I conduct research to understand how people make decisions involving trust, cooperation, and civility, with a focus on user behavior in online marketplaces and communities.

I examine how the presence of different social cues (for example, in natural language and physical appearance) shape our online social interactions. My work uses surveys, laboratory experiments, and observational studies of online behavioral data to understand online behavior.

I am currently a behavioral scientist at Allstate, and can be reached by email at tony.m.evans (at) gmail (dot) com
